AGV and AMR batteries must support acceleration peaks, navigation electronics, auxiliary loads, charge strategy and the available mechanical envelope.
Key design questions
- What are the continuous and short-duration peak currents?
- Does the drive return regenerative current to the battery?
- Will the robot opportunity-charge or complete full cycles?
- Is simultaneous charge and discharge required?
- What CAN or RS485 messages must be exchanged?
The correct pack is confirmed after the load profile, charger, protocol document, dimensions, mass and environmental conditions are reviewed together.
