Start with the operating system, not only voltage and Ah

A useful custom-battery request explains how the equipment works. Nominal voltage and capacity are a starting point, but the battery also needs to fit the load profile, charger, space and communication architecture.

Electrical inputs

  • Nominal and allowed operating voltage
  • Required energy or runtime
  • Continuous, peak and regenerative current
  • Charge voltage, current and source

Mechanical and interface inputs

  • Maximum dimensions and mass
  • Mounting orientation and environmental exposure
  • Connector, cable and terminal requirements
  • CAN, RS485, UART, Bluetooth or display needs
